Catching Up

Where has the time gone?!  The last few weeks have been zipping past and I haven't shared much of it with you.
My cousin has gone from this:

to this:

I did the make-up for the bridal party and stuck with them through out the day and helping out with odds and ends.  I think it would be really fun to be a wedding planner; all those crazy challenges that come up are kind of exciting!

Incidentally, when faced with a small fire breakout of burning tulle on the head table at a wedding, don't act rashly and slap it out with your hand, take an extra minute, maybe a deep breath, and come up with an alternative, like using your shoe.  I wouldn't squash a bug with my bare hand if my life depended on it - my shoe would be all over that thing! But, when faced with flames...

some of the burning tulle came to rest on my ring finger.  I had to scrape it off.

Now, 4 days later, it looks and feels like there is a bruise underneath.
I wonder if it's blistering under the nail.

In other news, things are going well as hubby sets up his new office.  He even has cute neighbours:

Nice view from the window, eh.  Is it wrong that I'm really entertained by them.
Hubby & I saw a really bright rainbow through his office window the other day:
I hate how they never seem to photograph as brightly as you see them.

Oh! and I won the war on the floor trim.  No carpet in the waiting lounge or in hubby's office!  Yay me!

Next project is recovering these cubical fabric panels.

We don't like the colour and there's a few marks and stains anyway.  The panels aren't removable which makes it a bit tricky.

Any crafty peeps out there got any tips before I just run at it with my trusty glue gun?
A glue gun to me is like duct tape to Red Green.

My Sublimage experience is still going well.  I had one breakout on my cheek, but I think that was more a case of office moving and wedding stress combined with the fact that 2 days last week I didn't do my usual make-up removal routine.

Stay tuned for a showcase of my hubby's mail.

Life is so exciting isn't it?!

  1. I've got lots of teal fabric to cover those panels with! ;) J and D look a might stiff in that photo. :)

  2. You'd make a great wedding planner! I mean you already dealt with a reception fire, you can handle anything after that. Your cousin made a beautiful bride!

Glad you won the war on carpet trim. :-)
