look ma, i'm in a video!

I've been asked before to make some how-to videos about make-up and I kept thinking I should, but the idea was a little intimidating to me.  We've all seen those video tutorials where the person, while talented, is just so awkward and I didn't want to look stupid.
Well, now I have no choice!
Yesterday I went to a training session on social media with my boss's daughter.  They talked about how important and how easy it was to incorporate video in your blog posts and facebook pages.  My boss's daughter was all over it and wanted to start doing that pronto.  I agree, I love watching them, but doing them was a whole other story.
Anyway, today I brought my camera to work, it's a Cannon power shot that shoots HD video, and started brainstorming of what a good first video post would be for the store blog and facebook.
Here's what I came up with:

Stay tuned! There will be more to follow!

  1. This video has gone viral. I've already seen it on another blog!

You have a news reader's voice and beautiful hands ... keep them, they'll open doors for you!

  2. Thanks MMMC. I have mum's hands, and for that I'm very greatful. Also, good to know about a news reader's voice, maybe I should look into a new vocation!

  3. You did an awesome job on this video and I really can't wait for more. Love the shatter polish. You're very good on video and your voice didn't even crack or anything. I'm not good in front of cameras, but you were born a star! ;-)

Hope your enjoying the weekend, and I totally think you should do your mom's makeup for a video. That would be SO FUN!

  4. FringeGirl! That would be so not fun!!!!

  5. I didn't know you had a blog!!! Until today when Fringegirl mentioned you....I thought "how many Laura's would post videos about polishing her nails"?!? hummm...I only know of one!

To think I am you best friend! gah!

    Looks great!

When is your next day off work? Email me!!!

Quips & Queries all appreciated!
